Original and negative photostats of transcriptions of diaries kept by Rev. Peter Thacher of Malden and Boston, Mass.: 13 Apr. - 3 July 1764 (original only) containing an account of his smallpox inoculation and on the deaths of his parents Oxenbridge and Sarah (Kent) Thacher; 1 Jan. 1772 - 15 Feb. 1773 (original and transcript) concerning his duties as minister of the First Congregational Parish of Malden; 1 Sep. 1780 - 31 May 1781 (original only) at Malden; 1 May 1784 - 15 Sep. 1785 (original and transcript) at Malden and at the Brattle St. (Fourth) Church of Boston; 4 July - 10 Aug. 1793, 10 July - 18 Sep. 1795 (original only); 11 Aug. 1793 - 9 July 1795 (filling gap of previous original, typescript only); and 1 Sep. 1797 - 1 Aug. 1799 at Brattle St. (original and typescript to 8 Oct. 1798 only). The transcripts were done by Mary Washburn Parkinson in 1899. Also, a sermon preached by Thacher in Boston in 1797.
